Overview Hungary:

Hungary is a country in Eastern Europe and has been a member of the E.U since 2004. Hugely popular as a tourist destination, Hungary boasts a spectacular capital city in Budapest, regarded by many as ‘the Paris of Eastern Europe.’ It is a city bustling with life, evident by its vibrant cafe and music scene. Combine this with the spectacular architecture and it’s no wonder it’s a place visited by so many.

If you prefer the great outdoors then why not explore the low mountainous region of the North West, The Great Plains in the East or visit Lake Balaton, one of Europe’s largest lakes.

As a medical tourism destination: Hungary

Hungary is no stranger to medical tourism and it certainly receives a lot of media attention. Since its admission into the E.U in 2004, Hungary has tightened up its medical and dental accreditation criteria to bring it on a par with that in Western Europe.

Primarily regarded as a dental hot spot, nearby countries such as Germany and Austria have been taking advantage of Hungary’s low dental prices for years and it is only now that the U.K and to a lesser extent the U.S  are starting to follow suit.

There is certainly no shortage of dentists in Hungary and they are believed to have the most dentists per head of population in the world! The profession prides itself on its high skill levels and use of only the latest equipment and procedures.

Hungary’s many medical centres don’t only cater for dental work but also offer excellence in medical, cosmetic and corrective laser eye surgery.
